To my grade 6 teacher: What were you thinking?!?

We like to joke around in our office. Sometimes I get teased, but we take our turns and most of the time it's pretty funny. (honestly, it's unfortunate when you can't laugh at yourself at times!)

Anyways, so recently these two guys I work with - PE teachers - have been making random comments about my hair. But whatever, I've embraced my hair and it's large mind of its own - I think I shall call it "free-spirited!" haha No hard feelings, but it reminded me of my RIDICULOUS grade 6 teacher. I really have no idea what she was thinking back then.

At this time (in grade 6) my hair decided to go from straight to curly, so obviously I had no idea what to do with it and the bad haircut I got didn't help. So kids started to make unkind comments as they are so good at doing. From what I remember, for the most part I just laughed along with it. So at the end of the year we had this lovely little Grade 6 Graduation party where the teachers gave out special awards that they had created for each student - such as "funniest person," etc. And for some reason my female teacher decided I deserved the HAIRIEST PERSON Award......?!?!?!?! What was she thinking?!? Had she ever been 12? Oh dear! So a little unsure of this most unexpected award I laughed-cried my way to the front to receive the honour.

Dear Grade 6 teacher: I forgive you. We all do stupid things. Don't do this one again. I'll be sure to not make the same mistake as a teacher! And I thank God he gave me a sense of humour.

Oh, and I have since burned this prestigious award.
