Cast Your Burdens

"Cast your burdens unto Jesus; he cares for you."

These are the words to an action song I was teaching to some Thai girls at an orphanage just a few days ago while on holiday. I've taught and sung it in quite a few countries with kids and adults since I learned it at camp at least 10 years ago. I love most kids action songs but this one in particular (along with the Moose Song :) ) has stuck with me. It's always a fun one to do and has pretty easy lyrics which is good for most people - especially those who are ESL.

Tonight, as my mind and emotions are busy (why? what if..., what now?, the unknown), it came to mind. Funny how when I sing it aloud I'm not usually feeling very "burdened" by anything - just singing the words and pumping out the actions and having fun. So it's convenient there are easy lyrics to get stuck in MY head at times like this. Thank you God.

Truth.

1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

And with that maybe I can fall asleep.
