We have been learning about communities in Social Studies recently, so this past Friday we went for a field trip to the Shangri-La Dalian Hotel where one of our parents works to see how a hotel community works together. The hotel staff gave us a fantastic tour of various departments, showing us the difference between a clean room and dirty room, different hotel restaurants, the large basement laundry room and even gave us a free lunch in the staff cafeteria along with other special treats :) It was a great trip, but I was a little bit tired from crowd control duty by the time we got back and maaaaaay have "rested my eyes" on the bus ride back to school. Unfortunately I can't post pictures here.
On the way home from school, waiting for the bus, I thought "UGH, I hate China pollution"... but turns out this time the billowing clouds of pollution were smoke from a fire. Good thing I had my camera with me from the field trip! (no fancy phone for me here!)
Thankfully ;) my bus was headed RIGHT towards the fire!
Are fires usually this dirty? Or is it just China?!?
But by the time I got to the final stop at the mall near my house it wasn't so bad
So I still opted for sitting outside :)
Our favorite veggie stand and our favorite "vegetable lady" (what we call her)
chinese dates... the kind I like
Friday night motivation of zucchini quiche, pumpkin soup, and late night banana muffins!
mmmmmmmmmm!
