ü Helping the very disorganized student by checking that she writes her homework in her student handbook everyday – and even stopping her in the hallway to check J
ü When a student finally hands in her late journal and it appears that she truly made an effort to catch up
ü Showing a student that she’s allowed to push someone with her shoulder in soccer to get the ball – and then having her push her friend
ü Standing back and watching my students record other students’ ideas on the board – especially when they simply point to the answer that’s already written on the board when it’s suggested a second time
ü The student who is reading “Anne of Green Gables” and wanted a picture of me and her book when I dressed up as Anne for Halloween
ü Playing “Pits and Peaks” with my class and making them do a drum roll when I announce the next student to share
ü The often awkward and seemingly depressed student who shared with the entire class that her “peak” this week was that she felt better about herself
ü Seeing the quiet but studious student’s personality explode when she speaks with her friends in Chinese
Thank you God!
